guildmasters.

She is the legal leader of the senate and uses her encyclopaedic knowledge of the laws of Ravnica and Hieromancy to manipulate and interpret laws in favour of the guild she represents, as well as for the betterment of Ravnica as a whole. Generally, she prefers to subdue and restrain those who oppose the Azorious, and tends to prefer solitude over the company of others - in grand Sphinx fashion. Isperia had a long, leonine body that was bigger than a cart, made even bulkier by broad, feathered wings. Her enormous forepaws were usually folded in front of her. Her face and head looked more human, framed by long purple hair, her features as famously inscrutable as all her kind.

A leader who values justice above all else, Aurelia seeks to defend those who cannot defend themselves from intraguild violence and the threat of war. She aims to not only enforce the laws made by the Azorious, but to have a compassionate and kind relationship with citizens. The goal of an overall sense of peace and unity in Ravnica is an ideal she works towards, and wants a lasting peace in the lack of a formal Guildpact. Leading the Legion from the front, she brings a swift justice, with a temper of legend. Aurelia is tall, but gives an impression of delicate grace that belies her size. Unlike her predecessors she has only two white-feathered wings. They spread nearly ten feet across. Aurelia's features are striking, androgynous and beautiful, and her bright crimson hair flows down over her shoulder like a river of blood dripping across her well-worn armour. Her voice is surprisingly high and musical.

Lazav is a mostly unknown figure, who changes his appearance constantly. He can shapeshift into many different people, races or animals. It is likely that people who interact with him will not remember it happening afterwards, as his use of mind magic to erase memories is a honed skill. Lazav claims to commune with the spirit of the past Guildmaster, Szadek, who died before Lazac was able to secretly reform the guild. Lazav has a regal bearing and wears a flowing leather cloak, made from the hide of some beast that had gone extinct ages ago. He is able to warp reality and seems to attract all of the magic in his surroundings toward him. His flickering cloak of illusion makes him appear as a blurred, shifting humanoid figure with an ever-changing arrangement of clothes and features. His voice is made harsh and anonymous by a strange buzz, as though heard on the other side of a thick wall.

Rakdos embodies the idea of hedonism, living only to be entertained by his cultists. He believes that those who do not give their all - including their lives - are not doing enough to actually garner his attention. He rarely attends performances, instead spending months or even years at a time in the lava pools of his Guild Hall. When he does attend a performance, those in the show are fawning for his attention, as his is the only one that matters. Although performances that displease him are known to be thrown into a swift end at the hand of his flaming sword. Big as a dragon, with arms and legs muscled and proportioned like a gigantic wrestler. Two sets of horns, one arcing upward, outward, and backward like a steer's, the other arcing down and curving up like those of a humongous ram. Burning yellow eyes. Razor teeth, locked together in a rictus grin. A beard of bone spurs emerging from a wide jaw. Bat wings. Cloven hooves. Blood-red hide clothed in chains and skulls. And his brow, a wreath of flame.

Jarad has much experience in the way of death, from leading the cultivation of the rot farms in the Undercity, where the Golgari Guild Hall is located, to assassinating those who would upset the delicate balance of the cycle of life and death. He is not unfamiliar with working alongside other Guilds, but puts the priorities of the Golgari first and foremost. He values those who can see the beauty and necessity of the life-death cycle, but tends to favour the elves in his Guild over others (the Kraul, Gorgons, and other lesser seen races exiled to the undercity). Jarad is a rotting corpse of a necromancer, garnered in fungus and the rotting bodies of animals, he wields a mushroom decorated staff in one hand, and a skeletal cacophony of death magic in the other. He covers himself in little but the rot of his own body, and the skulls of the deceased. A tall intimidating figure who commands the respect of both the dead and alive in his presence.

Borborygmos fought his way to the top of the Gruul Clans’ hierarchy. Literally. The Gruul value warriors and fighters above all else, and many challengers have attempted to overthrow the cyclops’ position - and failed. The former leader of the Burning Tree clan, Borborygmos is the ideal burning passion that all Gruul clan members aim to embody. Borborygmos has a bestial look, with his single eye, a wild mane of red hair and two twisting horns. He only wears a few scraps of leather armor.

A dragon obsessed with omnipotence, Niv-Mizzet has been alive over 16,000 years and aims to learn more and more about the world of Ravnica and the Multiverse. He knows of much that has been lost to time, and is not limited by the morals and ethics of normal experimentation. Experiments under his guidance are likely to explode, or worse. The most well known of his inventions is Mizzium, a malleable and near indestructible metal. Sitting atop the Nivix, he watches the experiments of the League, as well as conducting his own. He is an ancient red-brown Ravnican dragon obsessed with omniscience. Despite his size, he is able to move lightly and gracefully. He has a twisting tail, long blue-fringed wings, a long neck, spined membranes around his head and long dark horns.

The Obzedat, sometimes known as the Deathless, are a council of greedy, undead, spirits matriarchs/patriarchs of former Orzhovan leaders. They are all recluse, speaking rarely to anyone but themselves. If they must make a decision, it is relayed through their representative, Teysa Karlov - a direct descendant of the pseudo-leader of the Council, ‘Grandfather’ Karlov. The council values money and status above all else, enslaving ghosts indentured to them to work for thousands of years past their death, and forming a religious tie with wealth and money; “Where tithes are paid in gold and blood.” Most of the Deathless appeared as morbidly obese high priests or nobles, but sickly, pale, and ghostly in form. The head of the council, who gave final approval to the Obzedat's decisions was Karlov, who had been dead for centuries.

Trostani speak for the Chorus of the Enclave - the entirety of their guild and all lives that they shelter. They represent three different values: life, order, and harmony. They collectively represent the World Tree, made by their Parun Mat-Selesnya after the signing of the Guildpact. They value the community and the strength that support and care can foster in an individual - and in the collective. The massive armies of different races are both a sign of intimidation that Trostani holds to protect their members, as well as a threat that the innumerable collective that is the Enclave cannot be stamped out. Before becoming Trostani, the three dryads had separate names and personalities. Oba, the dryad of Life, was wild and full of life. Her hair was tangled with leaves and vines. Her eyes shifting with her moods, from green like flecks of emerald and jade to smoky brown. Ses, the dryad of Order, was ordered in manner and speech. Her hair was held in place by a headpiece made of goldenwood, and fell to her shoulders in a cascade of auburn. Cim, the dryad of Harmony, was the eldest and the bridge between the other two sisters. Despite being a small, slight dryad, everyone within the Selesnya Conclave could feel the power within her. She would always find a way to balance the needs of one with the other.

Zegana is a utopian at heart. While many of her Simic allies in the Speakers’ Chamber aim to evolve and direct their own evolution through genetic splicing and enhancing, Zegana seeks to move towards the Utopia originally planned by Simic, the Guild’s Parun. To be able to do so, she believes the Guild should focus less on themselves and more on the betterment of society through the improvement of medicine, farming, and other biological mechanisms. She is constantly at ends with her Guild, as some believe she lies about her true aims - but is transparent to the end, claiming the Speakers’ could oust her from power whenever she likes, but they all support her vision of a utopia where health and happiness are achievable to all. Zegana is a merfolk with a slim frame, and frills like that of a fish spread out behind her. Wielding a trident, she stands ready to move. Scales trace the outside of her legs, framing her bipedal body that can adapt to the underwater. A framed clams shell protects her head, spikes protruding out of both her shoulders and her helmet.
