GUILDMASTER:ISPERIA | AZORIUS SENATE just, protective, pragmatic, oppressive, rigid, shiftless The Azorius Senate, known as the lawmakers in Ravnica, are an organisation focused on stability and the rule of law. They take the role of the government, the mediator between the other guilds with far reaching power - even if some of it is often ignored. The employers of knights, field marshals and governance, they aim to keep Ravnica running smoothly and that justice is blind. With their three columns (the study of law, the making of law and the enforcement of law) they have real power over the instruction of Ravnica and, while often oppressive and harsh, they will stifle attempts to shift the power too far in one direction. GUILDMASTER:AURELIA | BOROS LEGION zealous, righteous, devoted, wrathful, conceited, intimidating The Boros Legion enforces military justice in Ravnica as the most formidible force in Ravnica itself. With a passionate belief in law to guide them they are dedicated to the punishment of anything that violates the law or obstructs the enforcement of said law. Unlike other guilds in Ravnica they have a clear top to bottom chain of command to reflect the power structure within the guild and their duty to the city is taken seriously. GUILDMASTER:LAZAV THE FACELESS | HOUSE DIMIR stealthy, knowledgeable, skilled, manipulative, greedy, ruthless House Dimir is a secret, manipulative guild that plays the game of deals, assassination, burglary and counter-intelligence. Over the years stories about House Dimir have spread, making it seem more and more like a complex, slick organisation that, more often than not, people do not realising they are working for. Leaving little to no trace of their interference in whatever mission they have been given, agents of House Dimir are the terrifying underbelly of Ravnica itself; no knowledge, no matter how dark, is safe from their prying eyes. GUILDMASTER:JARAD VOD SAVO | GOLGARI SWARM resourceful, mysterious, patient, disruptive, murderous, unhygienic Living in the undercity of Ravnica, the Golgari Swarm are an organisation that revere death and the natural cycles of the world. More like one large organism than a real organisation, they are scavengers on the outskirts of the city but long to be in charge, the masters - or predators - rather than the prey. They are recognised by a passion to survive, reproduce and accept and relish death, having inside them many sub-factions that have their own agenda. GUILDMASTER: BORBORYGMOS | GRUUL CLANS free, passionate, interdependent, aggressive, destructive, stubborn Orignially given the purpose of maintaining the wilderness, the Gruul are an organisation that live for the day and survive by claiming whatever they find in the midst of their desctrucion. They celebrate instinct and base urges above all else and recognise civilisation as a cage rather than a boon. They are a loose organisation of clans that live on the outskirts of Ravnica proper, relishing in the Rubblebelt, an area just outside the tenth district. The last refuge for the castaways of the world, the Gruul are more than they appear; they're not fools or wild animals. GUILDMASTER:NIV-MIZZET | IZZET LEAGUE focused, intelligent, energetic, obsessive, volatile, careless Builders of infrastructure, the Izzet League are the inventors of Ravnica. While they are responsible for most of the beneficial work in the city they are also often the ones to blame for damage, explosions and experiments going wrong. Fusing elemental magic with technology they are capable of creating masterpieces for the advancement of the people - while also developing things that could destroy the world as they know it. Always working for something bigger and better the Izzet League can claim the foundations of the city as their own, including sewers, foundaries and the marketplaces - but they are never satifised, always searching for more. GUILDMASTER: THE GHOST COUNCIL | ORZHOV SYNDICATE devout, organised, determined, controlling, sly, threatening What do you do when your bankers are also your local mobs? That is what has happened with the Orzhov Syndicate; once the followers of religion they have been transformed into theose that love wealth and power above all else. They thrive on business, buying and selling of everything from land to people; their influence is felt everywhere, from the lowest market to the highest mantle of the Azorius themselves. They believe that wealth is power, that structure builds wealth and thus their guild is run like as a combination of a bank, credit-lending and crime syndicate. Most in Ravnica recognise the corruption of the Orzhov but are lured in by the promise of wealth and eternal life. GUILDMASTER: RAKDOS | CULT OF RAKDOS dramatic, entertaining, indomitable, self-destructive, cruel, reckless Lovers of chaos and entertainment, the Cult of Rakos are the thrill-seeking entertainers of Ravnica. Combining bloodlust with a desire for power, they're often cruel for the sake of it and love personal enjoyment. With no formal structure to guide them there is no real law other than pleasing their guildmaster alongside doing whatever they want and enjoying their own parties and celebrations. They often attend to menial labour and unsavory tasks in Ravnica as well as the entertainment and catering industries. Wiki TYPICAL MEMBERS: Entertainers, fanatics, slaves, chefs, club owners. |
![]() GUILDMASTER: TROSTANI | SELESNYA CONCLAVE unified, selfless, harmonious, intolerant, cautious, irritable The voice of Mat'Selesnya, the manifestation of nature itself, the Conclave seek to hear the will of their guildmaster. They wish to spread the word of their belief to the rest of Ravnica and conformity is expected, if not demanded. With many small communes across the city the Conclave have a great reach and are constantly seeking new members to bring under their wing. They domesticate wild animals and involves itself in the creation of peace, life and unity. Despite this seemingly kind outlook, the Conclave is known for attempting to silence the civillians of Ravnica with their Ledev Guardians. The researchers of the Combine seek to find a way to improve the world and maintain nature in Ravnica itself - to the extend of modifying nature in order to allow it to survive. Researchers and scientists in the guild are known for creating hybrid creatures and monsters in their geo-labs and augment and customise natural organisims to help them flourish and expand. They believe their new nature will be better and stronger and be able to coexist with the urban nature of the Ravnican world. "LEADER": EPNOKEP | GUILDLESS invested, defiant, resourceful, lost, alienated, rejected The guildless are anyone who has chosen not to be a member of one of the ten guilds in Ravnica, for better or for worse. Many people choose this path because of their occupation - shopkeepers, storyellers, travellers - but others choose it because they have no other option or because they cannot be bothered with the effort of being a member of the guild. Some often blame the guilds themselves for all the bad in Ravnica and seek to undo their power and influence. Almost half the population of the population in Ravnica is guildless and they are looked down upon by members of the guilds.
