HOW DO I CHOOSE MY GUILD?

Choosing a guild can appear to be a daunting process, especially to those who might not be familiar with the Magic the Gathering universe. This guide is designed to help you when it comes to selecting a guild for your character.

1. Read the guild information page to get a brief understanding of the ten different guilds, their personality traits, mission and their usual membership. You can find the page here.

2. Look at the following flow chart and answer the questions to see which option you get. (This flow chart is taken from the "Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica" Dungeons and Dragons sourcebook). Click for a bigger image.

3. Discuss it with us! If you're not sure about which guild your character belongs in you can reply to this post with your thoughts and we will do our best to help guide you.

4. Take one of the many quizzes on the internet as your character and see what suggestions you get! Some of the can be found here and here.

5. If you're torn between one or two guilds or uncertain about which to choose then make a note of that on your app and leave fate in our hands!

Hello! Sorry about the long comment. I was thinking about which guild to put Lily in, because I don't feel like any of them particularly fit her, though they're all super interesting! I might start with her as guildless, but I wanted to see what guilds if any would fit her in case she does decide that joining a guild is a good idea.

Primarily, Lily is a girl who values doing what she wants to do and not caring about others/getting involved in their problems no matter what. However, she's not particularly violent or sadistic, and she's not interested in going around making people's lives worse - mostly she just wants to be left alone to live her own life in peace and quiet.

I was thinking that Gruul kind of fits her, with it's acceptance of outcasts, but she's not a particularly violent person, and on the contrary tries very hard to present an image of always being calm and in control. She doesn't particularly value aggression at all unless it's necessary, and while she does have a lot of anger at the world, it's generally not expressed in a violent way.

Azorius might fit in that she might want to join to have more control, and change laws in order to benefit her... but at the same time, she abhors having any kind of responsibility, and I feel like she's more likely to want to put her head down and get on with things rather than go out of her way to get involved in politics - and she doesn't want to be getting people's attention, either.

The hedonistic attitude of Rakdos kind of fits her? Sort of - she's not particularly hedonistic, but she does value doing what she wants to do above all else. The cruelty aspect of it would probably turn her off, though.

Golgari also looked interesting too, but I don't particularly see Lily as someone who reveres death. It's probably the one I know the least about, though!
